Classes are offered at The Oak Hill Center for Relationship & Sexuality Education and at other satellite locations for youth and adults with specific learning needs. Our primary focus is to increase critical thinking about relationships. A multi-modality approach is used with an emphasis on skill rehearsal.
Content includes:
- types of relationships and degree of trust
- privacy, personal boundaries
- identifying and managing feelings
- developing self-esteem and empathy
- attractions, dating
- anatomy and sexual health
- right/wrong touch and the concept of consent
- sexual acts that are against the law
- recognizing exploitation and abuse
The approach is both instructional and therapeutic as participants acquire accurate information and explore their feelings and attitudes about relationships and sexuality.
