Clinical staff at The Oak Hill Center for Relationship & Sexuality Education facilitate weekly sessions for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities with the goal of increasing their self-esteem and interpersonal skills. Participants develop their listening skills and empathy, learn to discriminate between types of relationships, rehearse safe boundaries, develop critical thinking and responsible decision-making and learn to recognize exploitation and abuse.
Program features include:
- safe and confidential learning environment
- homogeneous grouping according to ability
- maximum of 8 participants
- rehearsal through role play
